The Lion King soundtrack is good stuff! A few years ago I listened to Elton John's entire discography (40ish records?) in order, and I came away thinking Lion King is top 10 if not top 5. Just a great collection of talent there!
I haven't read "How To Do Nothing", but something I've thought of recently:
One of the foundational papers that led to LLMs is called "Attention Is All You Need". "Attention" has a specific meaning in the field, and it's not exactly what it means in everyday language, but I think the title is pretty close to true for humans too. Attention is definitely the most valuable thing we have when we use AI (ironically).
Another thought: maybe attention's always been the most important thing, and it just seems obvious now that tech is both 1) monetizing people's attention and fighting over it and 2) devaluing a lot of things that humans can do other than just paying attention.
